Note:
Many of our varieties develop guard petals, irregular
looking outer petals. They are used by the rose as a defense
against the elements. We leave these petals on the rose
for additional protection during transportation.
You may remove them upon receipt of
your shipment. Some growers remove guard petals for
cosmetic reasons, allowing the rose to suffer unnecessary
damage. In addition, if too many petals are peeled,
the rose will open in a star-like manner and a pointed-looking
bud will result.
